pirate fest...

on saturday we headed to port washington for pirate fest.
max was super excited for this adventure.


here are three cute little pirates.
grammi had to buy them these pirate bandannas as soon as we got to the festival!

here is max "posing like a pirate."
notice the sword in his "pirate belt."  we were hesitant to get him a sword at all.

but we found this wooden one and max thinks it looks just like jake's sword.

and in case you didn't know, jake is the main character from disney's "jake and the neverland pirates," which happens to be max's favorite show.
jake doesn't ever "use" his sword so i think max has made that connection cause he's been really responsible with it.

max wanted his picture in front of this pirate ship! :)

there were many interesting characters at pirate fest.
this guy was dragging along a toy turtle...not quite sure why.

here is max posing like a pirate again! :)

max and lucas were really into the music.

this nice pirate gave each of them a gold deblume!
max's is now stored in his pirate chest in his room.
