improvements needed...

well, i just uploaded 40 pictures to the computer from the camera and i'm not in a single one. i'm not saying that i love to have my picture taken or anything, but it would be nice to have proof that i am dong all these things i say that i'm doing and for max to know that i was around! :)

trip to the cottage...

we took a trip to the cottage from saturday afternoon to sunday afternoon.
we decided to put all of the projects and "to-do" lists aside and head up for some rest, relaxation, beautiful weather, and family time.

here he is getting his first hand full...

look at those chubby feet in the sand.

daddy got lots of time to play guitar. that made him happy.

there were so many adorable pictures down on the beach...i couldn't choose.

it took about 3 or 4 sand-covered hands to the mouth before he even questioned why he shouldn't eat it.
at this point we headed up to the cottage for a quick bath to remove the sand.

uncle bill grilled us some delicious chicken for our fajita salads!

max was sporting his uw gear for aunt lindsay.

a little play-time with grama on sunday morning.

you can't even tell in this picture that our little man has a cold.
he wasn't the most cooperative little guy. wasn't really interested in napping or going to bed.
but other than that...it we had a great time.

and daddy even had time to mow the lawn this evening before he had to leave for his gig.

pearly whites...

max loves to brush his teeth...his 2 teeth! :)
hopefully he's got this kind of attitude forever!

he actually gets upset when we put the toothbrush away when we finish.

daddy's gig...

daddy played a gig on a patio this past thursday.
max, grama, and i went and had dinner and listened to the music.
we were later joined by nate and becky.
we had a great time.
max even got to dance for a bit with becky!

11 months...

max you are 11 months old already...holy moly!!!

you are wearing 12 month clothes and size 4 diapers.

you are babbling up a storm...you have said "ma ma," "da da," and you make the same high pitched noise whenever we say "ball". you make a "eck" noise in response to "yucky."
you still love to eat and have a new found love for grapes(peeled of course) and toast. you had your first bite of chicken the other night too.
you are pulling up on everything and starting to get pretty brave. we think that your first steps (and falls) are right around the corner.
you love to play "peek-a-boo" with us with your blanket. you can wave and are "so big."
you love to read books and play with any kind of ball. you've already started playing catch with us.
we have started planning your first birthday party and can't wait to celebrate YOU with our friends and family.
we love you!

dinner at grama's...

after a long trip we were tired and needed to go grocery shopping.
not to mention that it was pretty warm out.
well, grama is a good cook and she has air conditioning...so we politely invited ourselves over for dinner.

max was so excited to see his grama.

max and grama spent some time after dinner on the front porch swing.

max loves these monchichi monkeys that my mom has!

look at those legs!

so handsome.

michigan trip - day 5 (the drive home)

the final day of our family's adventure was spent on the road.
max is a much better traveller in the evening/night.
we stopped to stretch our legs and play for a bit at a rest stop.
max was excited to have a little bit of freedom for awhile.
we sat on a blanket under the shade of a tree.

it was HOT outside. so we stripped down and enjoyed some water.

daddy tossed max around for a bit.

then max "walked" back to the car.

reading books and eating snacks was the only thing that got us through the last 2 hours of the trip.

michigan trip - day 4...

day 4 was the big day...the everito wedding! :)

max got in some quality time with grampa before we had to get ready to leave.

max was stylin and profilin waiting for the ceremony to begin.

it was a beautiful wedding.

quick family photo before the reception.

here is daddy giving his lesson....i mean his best man speech.

my two handsome men

family photo to end the night.

a big thanks to grampa for being our personal driver for the day!

michigan trip - day 3

we all slept in on day 3.
it felt great.

we were going to go to the detroit zoo but it turned out to be a rainy day.
thought about taking a trip to ikea...but didn't want to spend more time in the car or money out of our account
so we spent the just lounging around the house.

max played with these mangos all weekend.

he was very interested in how they felt, how they smelled and how the hit the ground.

we ventured out in the evening to join the bridal party and the bride to be/birthday girl to celebrate.

mommy was nice enough to share a little cake with her baby bird!

a little play time with daddy finished up our night.

michigan trip - days 1 and 2...

we travelled to michigan for the wedding of our friends jason and nancy.
this was going to be our first "big" trip as a family.
we left home around 6pm on wednesday.
our plan was to travel as far as we could...possibly the whole way to detroit if we could.
it all would depend on our little man.
had it not been for him sleeping with his chin to his chest, we would have made it.

we figured we'd have a better day if all 3 of us got some good sleep.
so, we stopped in michigan city and spent the night at a microtel.
our room was super tiny but really clean...so it was worth it.

in the morning we started off with breakfast and some play time before hitting the road.

max wasn't so sure about sharing his cereal with daddy

what a sweet face

get me outta here!

snoozin away during nap time

we made it to grampa's house in the afternoon.

after all that travelling and sweating in his carseat...our little man needed a bath.

then we spent some time just relaxing and playing at grampa's.

then it was time to head to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.
daddy had the important job of being jason's best man.

max was hanging with all the guys...look all of those striped polos!

daddy gave max a whole roll!
don't worry it was very hard on the outside...he just gnawed on it until we broke it open for him and gave him small bite sized pieces! :)

for daddy's groomsman gift he got a "do it yourself" book...watch out house, here comes drew!
