somebody got ahold of my phone the other night...

(this last one is my favorite...it cracks me up!)

sometimes he seems so grown up...

i was making dinner the other night and i looked in the dining room and saw max sitting at the table.

he just looks so grown up sometimes.  

i can't even handle it!

he was all set up with his waterbottle, coloring books and markers.

i have been thinking about our last visit to children's hospital in milwaukee and how happy the doctors were with his progress.  our ent said to me that she remembered how he had to work for every breath.  so i found this old post (http://maxhicks.blogspot.com/2009/09/little-bit-of-talking.html) and after comparing it to this little interview video I realize how far we have come.

i love this little boy so very much!

forever family celebration day...

january 28th was the three year anniversary of max "officially" joining our family.

we decided on a low key celebration.

we told max we were having a party because we loved him so much! :)

the party consisted of pizza with grama and aunt heidi.

we asked max what he wanted to do after dinner and his choice was to "play games!"

dominoes with daddy, grama and heidi!

and then an action packed game of candy land!

we had a fun night.

i hope max always knows how much we love him!

i couldn't imagine our lives without him!

pull-up party...

max and i went to a "pull-ups" party at kc a couple weeks ago.

there was free lunch, disney-ish characters, and entertainment.

max was excited to meet buzz...super excited.

it made me look forward to disney in june.  

i love disney but this trip is going to be incredible!

it's going to be amazing to experience that place through his eyes.

(this was probably the best costume...woody, mickey and minnie looked a little odd)

there were two guys doing tricks, juggling and making balloon animals.

max really liked watching the juggler!
