i am the luckiest girl in the world...

...enough said.

shed progress...

as of saturday morning this is what our shed progress looked like...

not sure what he's doing here...but he thought he was helping! :)

it sure is coming along. drew is very excited to finish this project and to have our garage back. nice work drew, it's looking good!

fun in fremont...

we headed to fremont on saturday to spend the evening with grammi and grampa ken.
max decided not to nap saturday afternoon and conveniently fell asleep 15 minutes before we got to the campground. also, as soon as we pulled into the campground it started to downpour. we hung out in the car with max until the storm passed and he was able to get about 45 minutes.
max said hi to bailey right away!

someone brought over a fish for max to check out.

he stuck his finger right into the fish's mouth.

he was very intrigued. then the fish slipped and i screamed. after that, max was done. :)

because of the storm, there were so many puddles. and what 2 year old doesn't like to play in puddles!

grammi took max for a walk around the campground.

this picture is pretty precious! the were looking at something up in the tree.

then the puddle playing started. he was in little boy heaven! (try to enlarge the photo by clicking on it to check out the look on his face!)

i just love him!!!

what is more fun than throwing toys in the air and letting them splash in the puddle?

it started to cool down so max got dried off and snuggled up by the fire for some book reading with grammi!

i was there too! i actually took a few pics of drew working on building a campfire but they didn't turn out...but he was there!

funny story...max took the label off of this water bottle. he came up to me and said, "look momma! a nakey water bottle!" it was hilarious!

we enjoyed a delicious meal of steak, shrimp, crab, potatoes, and corn on the cob all cooked over the campfire.
and max and grammi checked out the sunset before we headed back home.

thanks for the fun and relaxing evening grammi and grampa ken!

new outdoor furniture...

outside fun...

after max's 2 year old pictures were taken, we headed home to play in the backyard.

the boys mowed the lawn.

such attention to detail! :)

then it was time to play with the dump truck. he usually helps dada and uses it to pick up sticks!

he must have gotten tired and decided to ride it.

then he tried to get libby to chase him but she wasn't interested.

and then it was time for a little peek-a-boo!

we had so much fun playing outside. it sure was nice having a day so that we could play without it being so hot!

checking my email...

drew told max that he was checking his email the other night.
so now, whenever max sees a computer he needs to check his email.

after his nap, he ran and grabbed the ipad,
hopped up on the couch,
and proceeded to press buttons while "checking his email."

it was hilarious and i don't know how he did it, but he managed to get the music playing.

he was pretty proud of himself. (check out the bedhead and the crazy eyes!)

family reunion...

we travelled to door county for our annual stachowiak family reunion. there were 24 of us there total. i didn't take as many pictures as i would have liked, but here's a brief re-cap from the photos that i did take.
we loaded up the car on wednesday and had a very happy boy on our hands. i think all 3 of us were excited for a few days away and lots of good family time.

thursday morning max played cars with uncle gerry. max was loving all the floor space. i think he got too used to it because last night i picked cars up all over the house! :)

i don't think he was awake yet?

ryan, leslie and hayden arrived thursday afternoon. hayden had brought some tongs along to play with. he decided to try to eat his hot dog with them.

and he got a little help from grama.

later that day, after some playtime, the boys enjoyed a piece of string cheese.

and a deep conversation.

max got in some cuddle time with uncle ryan...

and with dada too!

on friday morning a group of us headed to "the farm." it's this neat (and overpriced) little animal farm and petting zoo in sturgeon bay. you can't see it from this picture, but the kids got a small baby bottle of milk to feed to the little goats and lambs. it was precious! max was giggling up a storm.

part of our crew.

max and dada were feeding corn to some of the bigger goats.

petting a small goat...

this one gave him a kiss...look at his face! too cute!

he was so excited to see these baby pigs. he wanted to hold it so badly.

he saw this big guy and kept saying, "wow, BIG goat!"

my two favorite boys.

checking out the ducks.

exploring the farm.

what lassie? hayden fell in the well?

the martin family!

me and my mommy.

the hicks family.

grama and her grandsons.

cute little goats!

after some serious hand-washing, i let max ride up on this tractor. he was loving it!

it was such a hot morning...we enjoyed push ups before heading back to the cottage.

after getting the boys down for their naps, we headed to do a little wine tasting and vodka tasting. unfortunately we found out that the vodka distillery didn't open until the following day...the boys were a bit disappointed.

lindsay posing with this random greyhound statue that we found at the winery.

we went to the restaurant inside to enjoy a drink and some pizza.

ryan and leslie.

and drew and i.

we headed back to the cottage to get ready for mexican night! heidi made her famous homemade salsas, i whipped up some sangria, and we had some awesome grilled chicken fajitas!

there was the possibility for a storm so bill and lindsay got bundled up to take the jet skis back to the dock.

we also celebrated hannah and teddy's 11th birthday that night!

here's hayden on saturday morning!

on saturday a group (bill, grama, drew, max, ryan, leslie, and hayden) headed out to a swimming beach but i don't think anyone got any pictures. another group of us went to sister bay to do some shopping.

saturday night we enjoyed some yummy bbq and a bonfire.

everyone was gone by sunday afternoon.

we had such a great time. i'm so glad we get opportunities like this to spend time with family. now we're looking forward to getting together with all of the martin family in august! :)
