we slept in til almost 9 am on tuesday morning.
we were lucky to have such great weather.
it was cool and sunny all 3 days!
we enjoyed a little snuggle time by the fire in the morning!
max had some cereal while he played with toys.
i forgot very few things.
one of those very few things is a very essential item in my book...coffee mugs.
so, i improvised and used max's plastic pirate mug.
it did the trick...kinda.
our master chef cooked pancakes over the fire for breakfast!
after breakfast we took one of many bike rides.
we discovered something interesting while camping. all the roads seemed to be uphill.
now, this isn't such a bad thing, unless you happen to be towing 45 pounds of boy behind you in a trailer!
we went down and checked out the beach.
it was a bit to chilly to even think about swimming.
but they did have a playground!!!
and what little boy doesn't like throwing rocks into the water!
before heading back we shared some fruit snacks and got a family picture!
drew played guitar, max napped, and i went for a run.
after nap time, max did some coloring and then he and dada went for a walk.
i relaxed by the fire with a cocktail!
and a little r&r was needed for max before bed.
he carried his little chair over and found his own place to chill.
funny story...tuesday night, while taking the garbage to the dumpster, drew ran into old friends.
while i was putting max to bed, he went to their campsite for a beer.
when he returned i was waiting patiently to resume our previous night's cribbage lesson.
max would not fall asleep. i think the kid was up until at least 11.
we let him come join us for a bit and gave him some milk.
he was deliriously funny.
we had our fingers crossed that we'd all get to sleep in again!
