max and i headed to milwaukee last wednesday evening for a sleep study.
his pulmonary doctor ordered this test for him.
he has HUGE tonsils and they wanted to test to see if they are interfering with his breathing.
removing tonsils is a much more routine procedure than opening an airway.
so, if that can help things, then we are open to it.
here is our little man as they started to put on the electrodes.
9 in his hair, 4 on his face, 2 on his chest, and two on his legs.
then there were two belts around his chest and a oxygen sensor on his toe.
we were watching nemo so that was helping to keep him distracted.
they then added that red thing under his nose.
the nurse explained it to max really well.
she said it was like a kitty's whiskers.
he was doing really well until this point.
then they put the oxygen nasal cannula on him.
he was not a fan.
he wanted to take it off.
i told him if he was a big boy and left everything alone, he could get a new toy the next day.
bribery, maybe? i choose to call it "incentive!" :)
our brave little boy gave me a thumbs up!
it was bed time.
it took him much longer to fall asleep than usual.
he was exhausted but very distracted.
the nurses woke me up at 5:40 to warn me that they had to give max a finger poke.
he did great but was pretty shocked with the "red things" all over his hand.
he calls blood "red things"...it makes me smile.
and on our way out of the hospital...our usual photo op with the giant yellow giraffe.
we've been snapping this picture since day 28 when we brought max home! :)
we should have some information in 7-10 days.
not sure what that means.
i'll keep you posted.
