road trip...

last weekend max and i decided to take a road trip to detroit to visit my dad and my grandparents.
my grandma had just had foot surgery, so we thought we'd cheer her up with a visit!

max was excited for his first road trip with momma.
he was looking forward to staying in a "hotel, motel, holiday inn."  and yes that is what he calls them! :)

max did some reading.

some snacking.

and some drinking.
i drove.
he also sang songs, told me stories, and watched a movie.
he was great and we made it a whole 5 hours before we stopped for the night!
