well, today we travelled to milwaukee for a follow up visit with an ent specialist. he wasn't the doctor that had followed max throughout his visit there, she was on vacation. well, the doc was great! unfortunately for max, he wanted to do a scope and look at things. that procedure consists of them sticking a tube, about the size of a spaghetti noodle, down his nostril to look at his vocal cords and into his windpipe. let me tell you, he doesn't really enjoy that. the doc said that things looked good. his vocal cords are both working great...one of the possible side effects of his surgery was temporary paralization of one side of the cords. there was a little bit of swelling, possibly due to the reflux, but suggested we just keep up on the reflux medicine. he said that the "floppiness" of his windpipe (which is what is causing the noisy breathing) was moderate.
it could take up to a year for all of the healing to occur, but our little guy is definitely on the mend!!!

here is max and i at a small get together we had yesterday for drew's dad. i recently realized how few pics i have with max...i guess that'll happen since i take most of the pictures! :)
