florida vacation - day 2...

we woke up ready for a day of adventure.
drew and i went for a jog, we had some breakfast, and played outside.

max also played some music on gramp's keyboard.

and pretended gramps' bike was his motorcycle.

gramps had lined up a boat ride on one of his friend's boats.

max and gramps rode in the front on the way out.

we decided to stop here.
it's where the fresh water and ocean water meet...
there's a nice little island for walking and shell collecting.

max got to do a little fishing with gramps and gramps' friend who we called "captain dick."
max caught a sheephead and a whiting.
he thought it was the coolest thing!

i made up this game one day waiting in a restaurant.  we hide our hand and put up a certain number of fingers and the other person has to try to guess.  it's provided hours of distraction and redirection! :)

florida vacation - day 1...

our florida vacation was FINALLY happening.
our original trip was cancelled due to a winter storm.
we were able to rebook tickets and go over spring break.
ready or not...here we come!

i looked in the backseat and realized that i wasn't the only one who was excited!

we were ready to leave the land of snow and cold to visit gramps and gg and enjoy some sunshine!

this kid is a traveling pro.
he did awesome, enjoyed a little ginger ale, read some books, had some snacks, and played on an ipod.
we arrived safe and sound.

gramps and gg took us lunch at a fun place called johnny rockets

(maybe a bit of "tmi" but a funny story to record) max and i were having some issues from dinner the night before.  i explained to him that it would be best to not get a shake cause dairy isn't good when you are having diarrhea.  when the waitress came to take our orders.  max told her that he'd like a strawberry shake and he didn't care if it gave him more diarrhea.  we all died laughing.

max got to make his own smiley face with ketchup...not bad.

had to snap this picture because we hadn't seen a flower in awhile.

we headed to gramps and gg's house, got settled in and relaxed.

and we ended our day with a dip in the pool!

snow cave...

winter was awful.
i live with a son that LOVES the snow and a husband that doesn't enjoy the cold at all.
we didn't get to play much...but when we did...lots of fun was had.

max was great while we were working with the salesman.

cedarburg winterfest...

we headed down to cedarburg with hannah and grama for a fun day to check out winterfest with grammi and grampa ken!

we tried to get both kids to ride the camel...but max was a little unsure.
but hannah loved it!

it was a very fun but long day!

valentines day...

we had an action packed valentines day around here!

i got these beautiful flowers delivered to me at work from my valentine! :)

since daddy had to work late and dj a social for the students, max and i planned to go out on a valetines date with becky and audrey.

he worked hard on a valentine card for audrey!

we started with dinner at el azteca!

then we headed over to monkey joes!

audrey ended up on her belly almost every time...it was hilarious.

max was so fast, this was the best picture i could get!
