best buddies...

last week, max only wanted momma.
drew was a little bit bummed at the situation.
i told him, just wait, the tables will turn at any moment.
now, max wants dada! it's too cute.
they had a great day yesterday hanging out and running errands and having fun while i tried to sleep off this sickness that i have.
i hope they have so many more special days like this over their first summer together!

i love...

i love that when max falls down he says, "down he goes."

i love that he thinks ketschup is a side dish and not something to dip things into.

i love that when something exciting or surprising happens max says, "oh my goodness."

i love the way max says "yogurt." it makes him sound european.

i love that he wants to take a different stuffed animal to bed with him every night.

i love that he calls anything chocolate "chocolate cake." he even does this with chocolate milk.

straight to the bath...

what.a.mess!

a picture is worth 1,000 words...

...and this is one of those moments.
i don't have 1,000 words but i do have a hilarious story.
after bath tonight max was running around naked and having a blast giggling and hiding and going from room to room.
before he peed on the carpet, i figured it was time for him to put his diaper on. mission accomplished. we started walking down the hallway and he just started tugging at the diaper. he pulled it down to where you could just see his crack. he walked back to our bedroom...got this mischievous look in his eye, tore his diaper off and threw it across the room. he looked in disbelief of what he had accomplished, took a peek at his naked self, and yelled while smacking his belly "MY BODY!" he took off running like a maniac!
drew was in shock at his ridiculousness and i fell down on the floor i was laughing so hard. i grabbed the camera and got this shot while he was in mid-leap running down the hall. what a silly boy!

tractor ride...

mooker came over to roll our lawn on sunday.
max woke up from his nap just as mooker was getting ready to leave.
he wanted to go outside to say hello and he got to sit on mooker's tractor!

finally, a nice day...

it has been cold, cloudy, windy, rainy, and snowy for too long.
we WANT SPRING to come and to stay!
we woke up and it was finally sunny...time to use up some of our energy!

we started with a messy breakfast of oatmeal!

then we played outside.
max said this stick was his guitar and he played me lots of music.
i got some of it on video and will have to post that soon.
after lots of running, kicking the soccer ball, playing with trucks, blowing bubbles, and just sitting in the sun...it was naptime!

after nap we had our snack outside and waited for dada to get home from school.
i think he looks like one of the munchkins from the wizard of oz here from the lollipop guild.

remind me again why we buy toys...

max has had more fun the past few days not only playing with the goodies in his easter basket from grama...but also playing IN the easter baseket from grama.

these pictures are from a few days ago.
and just last night i was making dinner for max and i heard "help me, ima guck (i'm stuck)."
he had wedged himself in there and the basket was stuck between the sliding glass door and his little packer chair and he really couldn't get out.
i would have taken a picture but couldn't locate the camera fast enough! :)

his two buddies...

max has been quite fond of these two guys lately.
he carries them around, they ride in the car with us, he makes them talk.
the grinch has a very low sounding growly voice.
the "foot guy" (the orange one) has a higher pitched, almost puppy-like sounding voice.
max will hold their necks and make them talk back and forth.
it is HILARIOUS!
