it only took hurricane max about 30 minutes to create this mess!

max decided to wear his dada's shoes the other day.
you're growing fast buddy, but we won't let you grow up that fast! :)

snow gazers...

i snapped this picture of libby, drew, and max tonight.
they were just hanging out on the love seat looking at the snow.
so precious...it makes my heart smile.

pudding painting...

we had something up our sleeves for a day like this...
painting with pudding!

the first strokes...he still thinks it's just paint.

dada was getting in on the fun too!

max was loving it...especially the giant piece of paper to work with.
next he saw dada like the paint off his fingers.
we carefully explained that this was pudding and not paint.

at this point we had moved all around the table to get the whole paper filled.
he told me he made a sun, an "m", and a smile.
such a creative little guy!

he definitely didn't get as messy as i had thought.
he kept licking the pudding, which he called "ice cream" off of his fingers.
we had him stripped down to his diaper just in case.

the finished product...our family masterpiece!

snow day...

we had some really beautiful weather here in wisconsin this past week.
we actually could see most of the grass in our backyard.
and then we heard a big storm was coming.
of course...a big storm.

this picture was taken after the snow started falling.
you can actually tell where the grass had been visible.

this was less than 3 hours later.

and this is what we woke up to...over 10 inches of snow.

we enjoyed a laid-back snow day!

cookie monster...

since we are in the midst of a blizzard...we thought it would be fun to make chocolate chip cookies today!

max was helping me get everything ready!

he thought it was pretty funny to put all the measuring cups and spoons in the bowl when i wasn't looking.

he really liked helping me use the hand mixer.
we got everything mixed together and some dough on the cookie sheet.
to pass the time we had a little kitchen dance party.
we've been having lots of these lately...and we're hoping our neighbors don't laugh at us!

look who was in the paper...

max was!
granny and gramps submitted max's picture in his packer uniform to the naples newspaper.
the paper picked his photo to put in the paper about the photo gallery for superbowl pictures!

saturday fun...

we started off our morning with a little lion-cycle riding.
don't worry, max wore his helmet!

we let dada sleep in.
when he woke up, we baked some muffins.
now i don't want to take credit for too much...it was one of those "just add milk" mixes.
max enjoyed helping and pouring everything in the bowl and mixing it up.

mmmm...blueberry muffins!

after nap time, while dada was busy cleaning up the finally snow-free back yard, max did some coloring.

we are really working on our colors. here he is showing me the "red" crayon.
usually everything is green. not sure why...but, like i said, we are working on it.

we made pizza for dinner and watched some nick jr before putting max to bed.

drew and i ended our evening with a competitive game of scrabble.

friday fun with dada...

dada had parent-teacher conferences wednesday and thursday.
because of all the extra time...he had friday off!
max and i were excited to have him home!

max was ready to get his controller ready.
drew plays madden and max either thinks there is a real football game on or just hits buttons on his controller and "plays" along!

after lots of playing...max and dada took a pretend nap.

we filled our day with playing, naps, grocery shopping and relaxation.
at the end of the day max was showing off some of his animal noises.
one of his new ones is elephant....

we had a great, laid-back family day!

valentines day...

me with my little valentine.
we got him some lollipops that spell "love" for his valentine gift.

he chose to have the "O" but it broke off the stick so he had to settle for the "L."

this is what he made us at school (daycare).

drew and i went out for an awesome dinner date on saturday to celebrate.
we had to wait over an hour for our table so we just sat at the bar and talked.

it was so nice. we just kept talking about how blessed we were. i am so thankful for all of the love in my life.

what.a.mess...

i had mad max a delicious lunch on sunday, but he wanted to share my leftovers from our valentine's date the night before.
the noodles were delicious...can't you tell? :)

grammi, mai-me and aww-tin...

grammi, mai-me, and aww-tin came to visit on saturday.
they watched max in the evening so drew and i could go out on a date.
he was so excited when he woke up from his nap and realized that they were here.

grammi brought supplies to decorate valentine cookies.
(look at the sprinkle on his nose!)

i wonder how much of this happened during the decorating! :)
